BodyTalk

What happens in a BodyTalk Session?

  1. During your first appointment you will fill in a comprehensive medical history form and discuss with your Practitioner what you would like to address during your BodyTalk session.
  2. The BodyTalk Practitioner will use muscular feedback from your body while following a Protocol Chart (something like a map of your bodymind) to determine which of the many communication links within your body need to be ‘balanced'.  Your own body (i.e. the biofeedback that the Practitioner receives from you) will be guiding the Practitioner to the areas that need attention as a ‘priority’.
  3. The Practitioner places hand above the areas that have been highlighted while working through the protocol, then energetically taps over the brain (to activate the brain centers) and over the heart (to ensure the procedure will last). The procedure brings these areas to the attention of your body to stimulate it to begin its healing process.
  4. If it turns out that you would benefit from consulting another health modality, such as visiting a Chiropractor, or a massage therapist, etc. etc., this will be identified as your Practitioner works through the BodyTalk Protocol chart, and you will be advised accordingly.
  5. The BodyTalk system is gentle and non-invasive. There are no needles used, and there is no manipulation applied on the tissues. Clients remain fully clothed throughout the session lying down comfortably on a massage table. The sessions are usually scheduled from 45 minutes to an hour, although the actual length of the session is determined by your own body and will vary from session to session.
  6. Commonly felt sensations during a BodyTalk session include feeling warm or cold, a general feeling of calmness and relaxation spreading throughout the body, a sudden need to express an emotion such as laughing or crying, and abdominal ‘gurgling’ as energy is released from the diaphragm.
  7. At the end of the session, the Practitioner consults your body if a follow-up session is required, and when the optimum date for the follow-up would be. The choice of whether to book another appointment is entirely yours. Depending on your condition, your next session may be the next day, the following week, or in a month's time.
  8. A BodyTalk session is just the beginning. BodyTalk stimulates your body to do what it was born knowing - how to heal itself. This process will continue for some time after you have received your BodyTalk session; your body will be working through the changes necessary to return you to a state of optimal physical, mental and emotional health.
